ZenSats accepts WBTC or wstETH as collateral, borrows stablecoins through LlamaLend or legacy Aave managers, and puts the debt into a pmUSD/crvUSD LP strategy. The 2026-08-16 survey measured about $0.014M on Ethereum, only 0.014% of the size floor. The version-1 dossier rejects it because its size does not support advised use. We will not open an individual review until it clears the floor, when leverage, liquidation, LP, oracle, admin, audit, and unwind risks can be assessed.

The research file

Mechanism applicability

ZenSats uses ERC-4626 Zenji vaults to post deposited WBTC or wstETH as collateral, borrow a stablecoin at a target LTV, and put the debt into a yield strategy. Current documentation names LlamaLend crvUSD borrowing for active vaults and a pmUSD/crvUSD LP staked through Stake DAO. Returns are what remains after borrowing costs, fees, and strategy performance, and depend on both leveraged collateral and the AMM.

Control, loss and exit applicability

The owner may adjust bounded LTV, fee, bounty, and slippage settings, run idle and staged emergency modes, and withdraw protocol fees. Governance can change only the swapper through a one-week timelock. Withdrawals may require removing funds from the strategy, making swaps, repaying debt, and removing collateral. LlamaLend soft liquidation, oracle failures, LP depeg, or thin liquidity can change or delay the collateral returned.

Current observation and lifecycle

The DefiLlama API read on 2026-08-16 classified ZenSats as Yield and reported approximately $0.014M, all on Ethereum, based on ERC-4626 totalAssets. Current documentation separates active WBTC and wstETH LlamaLend vaults from legacy Aave deployments and gives verified addresses. The project states plainly that it has not yet completed a formal third-party audit.

Why the materiality dossier decides

Measured TVL is approximately 0.014% of the size floor, so the venue has no capacity evidence for advised allocations. We will not open an individual review until TVL clears the size floor for 30 days. Then verify active addresses and roles, collateral and debt markets, target LTV and liquidation history, oracle and swapper paths, LP and Stake DAO exits, audits, incidents, and proposed-size unwinds.

Research status

This is a capacity-unproven record for ZenSats, not a quality rejection or approval. Reported TVL says how big the venue is, not what the client owns, who can change the rules, or how a position exits at a proposed size. The individual review opens when the protocol clears the size floor.

Sources

The claims above trace to these. Where a number could not be independently verified, the thesis says so.

Inherited controls

The research above describes the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The layer with the most administrative power sets the position’s effective control; that describes control, not quality or suitability.
