TownSquare Lending
TownSquare is a modular money market on Monad built for leveraged borrowing and yield. The current DefiLlama API read on 2026-08-14 showed less than $1M of tracked TVL, well below our size floor. We reject it on size. If an advisory book moved into a venue this size based on the same research, the book would become the exit crush, whatever the protocol’s quality. Two things must change before the file reopens: the protocol must cross the floor and stay there, and Monad must pass chain-level vetting. Nothing deployed on an unapproved chain is available for client money, regardless of protocol quality.
- TVL sustained above the retired TVL threshold for 30 days
- The Monad review resolves to approved
Watched nightly: a warning on its venues or files, or a cited document that changes, reopens the memo. The first confirmation is due 2026-11-15.
The research file
Mechanism applicability
TownSquare offers a Monad money market with supply, borrow and yield-vault products, including a product for minting a dollar token. If the file reopens, lender liquidity, borrower collateral and liquidation mechanics will matter. This class review records only how the protocol fits the class. It does not reach an individual review judgment.
Control and operating evidence
The application describes modular lending and vault products, but the size rule stops the review before checks of administrators, oracles, market caps, audits and incidents. We have not checked those items and do not presume they are safe. Monad chain approval is also a separate requirement before the protocol can be used.
Exit consequence
A lending supplier ultimately depends on available market liquidity and borrower repayment or liquidation to withdraw funds. With less than $1M of tracked TVL in the current API read, even a modest advised allocation could dominate the venue’s liquidity. The class rule therefore reflects a direct capacity and exit problem, regardless of protocol quality.
Why the class rule decides
The v1 size dossier requires TVL at or above the size floor for 30 days before we open an individual review. TownSquare is now far below that floor, so we have not begun the protocol-specific review of controls, incidents and stress. Reopening the file also requires an approved Monad chain review.
Research status
This is a capacity-unproven record for TownSquare Lending, not a quality rejection or approval. Reported TVL says how big the venue is, not what the client owns, who can change the rules, or how a position exits at a proposed size. The individual review opens when the protocol clears the size floor.

Inherited controls
The research above describes the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The layer with the most administrative power sets the position’s effective control; that describes control, not quality or suitability.
| Chain | Verdict | Control | Control constraint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monad | Approved with limits | Governed, no freeze | the L1 has a public validator path, but its short production record, single initial client lineage, and Foundation-directed delegation keep stake and operations concentrated. |
