Bitway Earn remains outside the current firm shelf because it falls into the rejected-chain policy class. This is a firm policy decision, not an adverse quality rating or a client trade instruction. The sections below retain the facts about its mechanism, control, losses, and exits.

The research file

Mechanism and chain applicability

Bitway documents a BNB Chain staking vault where a depositor supplies USDT or USDC and receives a yield-bearing bwToken. Bitway then transfers most deposited assets to approved custodial accounts, including Binance, for a market-neutral trading strategy. A smaller onchain buffer supports withdrawals. DefiLlama also identifies Binance as the only current chain. This shows that the live client entry and settlement path relies on BNB Chain. It does not endorse the vault or strategy on its own.

Current observation and evidence boundary

The DefiLlama protocol API read on 2026-08-15 reported approximately $76.0M of Bitway Earn TVL, entirely on Binance. Current Bitway materials still describe BNB Chain vaults and market-neutral yield executed on Binance. We have not reviewed contract addresses, strategy books, custodian and exchange balances, hedge effectiveness, permissions, audits, incidents, or losses because the v1 rejected-chain dossier first decides whether the current deployment is available to clients.

Redemption and control applicability

Bitway offers a normal unstake that typically takes seven days while positions unwind. It also offers a fee-bearing flash unstake funded by available vault liquidity. Its FAQ says funds may move to whitelisted institutional custody and that Bitway may pause either withdrawal mode in extreme conditions. These points require an individual review, but the queue, buffer, and off-chain execution do not create an approved-chain route that avoids the BNB settlement layer.

Why the shared dossier decides

The v1 rejected-chain dossier applies because the survey and current product documentation show no investable deployment of this client asset and strategy on an approved chain. Reopen the review only if BNB Chain passes a versioned Ketju chain review or Bitway launches the same strategy with meaningful, independently verifiable liquidity on an approved chain. That event would start a full review of custody, exchange exposure, hedge accounting, contract control, audits, incidents, and stressed redemptions. It would not mean approval.

Class rule

The rejected chain class is outside the approved structures, so every protocol in it is not approved until the rule changes. The rule is about the structure, not an adverse finding about this protocol, and it is not a client instruction. The events that would reopen it are listed with the memo.

Sources

The claims above trace to these. Where a number could not be independently verified, the thesis says so.

Inherited controls

The research above describes the protocol layer. Every position also inherits the asset it holds and the chain it settles on. The layer with the most administrative power sets the position’s effective control; that describes control, not quality or suitability.
